Tips to Stay on Track When On Vacation

Who else is taking advantage of the fact that we can actually travel again without having to quarantine or be concerned about whether you’re being safe?! I most definitely am! I’m leaving for a trip this weekend, which inspired me to write this blog post about my 2 big tips I recommend for staying on track with your health and fitness goals when traveling. I find that when I do these two things, I feel better and have more energy to fully enjoy my trip.

Tip #1. Move your body. Maybe you’re someone who likes to get a regular workout in when you’re on vacation or you like to do more physical activities like hiking, kayaking, or biking. If so, that’s great! But maybe you have no interest in working out when on vacation. If so, that’s great too! Our vacations should be a time where we do what we WANT to do. If you prefer the more relaxing vacation, I would just recommend taking a 20-30 min walk or stretching session each day so that you are moving your body in some way each day. Trust me, you’ll feel better for it!

Tip #2. Eat a healthy breakfast. I’m someone who thoroughly enjoys my food when on vacation. I love trying new foods, checking out local restaurants, and getting the full experience! For that reason, I like to make sure I’m eating a healthy breakfast most days. Starting the day off with a healthy meal is always a good choice, even on vacation. Most of the time, you’re going to be going out for dinner or maybe lunch, so it’s good to know you at least have breakfast as your healthier meal with some protein, fruit, and maybe even veggies.
